25: Bryan E. Miller – Composer/Sensory Overload Music

GUEST: Bryan E. Miller

UCLA Photo - BMC_8172 MB TweakBryan E. Miller is a creative film composer whose goal is to help maximize the emotional impact of visual media by creating powerful, evocative film scores.

Bryan studied at the Grove School of Music, and UCLA Extensions Film scoring program. Early in his career Bryan honed his craft by assisting composer Mark Waters on more than 50 episodes for Disney and orchestrated and conducted for composer Mychael Danna who has since won an Academy Award.

Bryan has composed and produced music for hundreds of projects including movies, television, commercials, documentaries, and DVD featurettes. His clients include Walt Disney, 20th Century Fox, Lionsgate, NBC Universal, CBS, ABC, A&E and The Style Network.

You’ve probably heard his compositions in American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, Boston Legal, The Big Bang Theory, Next Top Model, The Shield, General Hospital, Southland, and Access Hollywood, or listened to his signature music for the Comcast Logo.

It was based on his versatility in multiple musical genres and his passion for interesting and creative challenges that Bryan was chosen to compose the score for the new feature film by New York Times best-selling author-turned-filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza – America: Imagine the World without Her. Produced by Academy Award-winner Gerald Molen (Schindler’s List, Jurassic Park), America was a hit in the box office, becoming the sixth highest grossing political documentary in history.

Bryan has signed with Milan Records, which released the America soundtrack album.

Though primarily a composer of dramatic and narrative films, Miller loves the documentary genre, and frequently takes time to compose music for charities and humanitarian organizations like St. Jude Children’s Hospital, World Vision, Best Friends Animal Rescue, and The Museum of Tolerance. Bryan’s view: “It’s a wonderful feeling when you can be part of a passionate team that wants to bring positive change to the world.”

Bryan E. Miller is a rising star in Hollywood who is refreshingly un-Hollywood. Originally from Albuquerque, NM, Bryan now lives in Los Angeles with his wife and 3 children. Bryan is equal parts pragmatist and idealist. He gets the job done in an efficient and ego-free way, all the while striving to create music that “stirs the soul” and “connects us to something bigger than ourselves.”

Keeping a positive attitude at all times and being willing to work hard.
